People, Places, and other Things that don't fit

I am always looking out for a moment to capture in nature but I occasionally find a person, place or thing that I find of interest....such as women in red coats eating ice cream.

A young man in Martinez would wander about on his skateboard - keeping to himself with little to say. One day he somehow had acquired a pet seagull. He saw me with a camera and asked me to take his picture. I obliged and he quickly skated off.

I ran across this gentleman at the Farmer's Market in San Luis Obispo.

A little girl contemplates her strategy in her first attempt at bowling.

I decided to take this shot in a cafe in Amargosa, California only AFTER everyone started to behave as if they were in the witness protection program.

Reflecting within reflections.

Contemplating clouds of uncertainty.

Forgetting.

Two creatures waiting for food.

This was a flower vendor on Columbus Street in San Francisco a few years ago. This image has been a crowd favorite - except for one professional troll who thought the hose was messy.

A chef in Logan, Utah was preparing a meal when a beam of sunlight illuminated the grill like a theater stage.

I pulled into a gas station anticipating a possible composition - and sometimes it comes together.

I tried a wider version at the same location.

Why did the gulls not cross the road?

Hearing the art in his dreams....

One discarded sunflower seed…

Street art. Not bad.

I happened upon this equestrian at the State Fair during phenomenal light.

I called it “Riding on Rainbows”. I never could find out her name.

Your mileage may vary.

I walked by this spot at a winery in Sonoma and it demanded attention.

The same with this moment is Contra Costa County.

The North Rim of the Grand Canyon offers a different perspective of this natural wonder. The approach from this side is through miles of forest rather than desert.

…and in Utah.

Due to a traffic problem, I’m waiting by the side of the road in Logan Pass, Utah when I’m presented with a small buffet of color and texture.

There is a curator with a sense of humor at the Alaska Sea Life Center in Seward, Alaska. There is a story about Sven and Olaf…

I drove by a massive collection of mutton butt. One looked back.

A juxtaposition in merchants and marketing. These businesses are/were in San Pablo, California.

The merchants of Aspen, Colorado.

Coral Pink sand Dunes State Park, Utah. There are a few quiet days without dune buggies.

Gourds at sunrise in Boulder, Utah.

A compressed log factory was demolished for a “mondo condo” project. The art on this tower was deemed worth saving so they are building around it.

Light flows like water in the nondenominational Sea Ranch Chapel. Located on California Highway 1 next to the fire station, the structure and land was donated by a local family and the property is maintained by community volunteers.

The historic Yates Mill near Raleigh, North Carolina.

The freeway has bypassed the old road along the California North Coast and decreased the business for this small farmer. But you are now encouraged to stop, and look without distraction, and taste the salt air mixed with the fog hugging the hill tops.

Theme based motel rooms in Seligman, Arizona. Norwegian owned - I’m not sure why that is important. Uff Da!

…right after they eliminated the math section on the civil service exam…

From a motel parking lot, “When the crows return to Escondido.”

I noticed these “two old friends” in a corral on a side road near Paso Robles, California. There was nobody around to inquire about their pre-retirement history.

Propane explosion, grease fire, heart disease, you gotta’ die of something…

….THANKS FOR THE LOOK1
